Faith , then , is faith in Jesus Christ

Paul employs a number of metaphor to describe the consequences of faith is staggering

It is by faith believers are justified

Rom 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

Reconciled

2 Cor 5:18 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”

Redeemed

Eph 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

Made Alive

Eph 2:5 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”

Adopted into the family of God

Rom 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

Rom 8:16 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

Re-created

2 Cor 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
