Luke 21:1-5 The Faith of The Widow
Faith of the Widow, Luke 21:1-5.
The faith of the widow took her to the treasury. She was poor in money but rich in faith. She gave out of her poverty.
2 Corinthians 6:10: As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
[Deuteronomy 6:5: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might]. It is not about money. It is about our heart. God knows the heart always and when we give.
The widow was commended by Jesus for her faith. Giving is an act of worship. She was worshipping in giving. Her sacrificial gift demonstrated the depth of her love. The widow did not have much, but it did not stop her from giving. She was doing something for the Lord. She gave all she had.
[Luke 6:30: Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again]. We cannot outgive God. Man sees what is given, but God sees what is left. We are to be joyful givers. We give back from what God gives us.
The widow’s faith caused her to give all she had. Abraham stepped out in faith, and God provided. Jesus gave Himself for us.
