Moses—Spiritual Leader “Moses was the Earthly Arrow to Point the People to God”

Altar—Physical Representation of Heavenly Action—12 Tribes

Altars are Man Made vs.4 “Built”

There is a progression of development in the building of altars.

Earth—Ex.20:24 “An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.”

Stone—Ex.20:25 “And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.”

Wood—Ex.27:1 “And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.”

Gold—Rev.8:3 “And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.” Rev.9:13 “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,”

Altars are for Bringing Sacrifices: Gifts “Matt.5:23 “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;”

Altars are a Place of Prayer “Matt.23:18 “And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.”

Altars are a Place of Thanksgiving—Brunt Offering vs.4

Altars are a Place of Fellowship—Peace Offering: Young men, Elders, Moses, and God vs.5
