Zechariah 8:1-6, Thus Saith the LORD of Hosts.

Zechariah is writing down what God has said to him.

[I Samuel 1:3: And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there]. The LORD of hosts appears for the first time in I Samuel 1:3.

Divine revelation is the only Word of Truth.

[Zechariah 8:2: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury]. God is jealous for His people. He who touches Israel touches the apple of His eye. Israel is supposed to be the city of Truth.

Zechariah 8:3: Great blessings come from God’s presence.

God will restore His people.

[Isaiah 65:20-22: There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands]. God promises perfect peace. God has a plan and the power to carry it out. Peace will be known during the millennial reign of Christ.

[Zechariah 8:6: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.

Matthew 19:26: But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible]. There is nothing too hard for God.

[Zechariah 8:7-8: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness]. God’s people have been returning since 1948.

Hosea 1:9: Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

Zechariah 8:9: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

[Zechariah 8:10: For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbor. But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts]. God is going to bless His people. He is going to gather His elect. He shall make them a blessing. God is going to prosper His people.

[Zechariah 8:13-15: And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not: So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Juda: fear ye not]. Fear not and fear ye not. Godly sorrow provides repentance. God uses sorrow and blessings to teach His children. The remnant will have everything. God will require honest living.

[Genesis 12:2: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:]. That promise is still being fulfilled. God’s authority is behind His promises.

[I Peter 2:9: But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light]. God is a God of love, but He hates sin.

[Zechariah 8:19: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace]. We walk by faith in the promises of God. We nourish our faith by resting in His promises.

God changeth not. Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Love the Truth. We are supposed to be holy people. We live on the promises of God.
