Introduction
One imprtant question one needs to ask is why do we need Justification?
The need for Justificatioon arose because of the sin of Adam and Eve.
When they disobeyed the commandment given by God they actually were challanging Gods sovereignty.
God Coul have destroyed them But He didn't.
God ust of had some reason why He would offer the remedy of “the seed of the woman that would bruise the serpents Head.”
What ever reason He had lay within Himself.
Adam and Eve did nothing to deserve His forgiveness.
In Psalm 106 the psamist emphasized that God saved Israel from the bondage of Egypt not because the peoples deserved deliverance but rather for HIs names sake, God has His name involved in our salvation so the means He cannot let HIs name be defamed by our failures.
If Adam and Eve could not keep God’s commandments in their perfect creation, can we, their fallen progeny, do any better in our attempts to satisfy Gods stringent standards of perfection?
The Fall involved rebellion whinch can only God can bring about redemption.
He saves for His names sake. This is the reason Paul gives for justification by faith rather than works.
Ephesians 2:9 “not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
What ever we conclude on the matter of justification, it must glorify the name of God.
