What destination would you like to travel to more than anywhere and why?
Last week, when I asked why you joined a connect group, people had a variety of answers, but one thing stuck out as a commonality across the board. You all wanted to elevate your faith. My follow up question is why? What are you after on your faith journey?
The title of this discussion is called “What to expect along the way.” A faith journey is also traveling towards a destination. Like any trip you go on, it’s wise to do research, to plan out your itinerary, and to know what to expect. You think about what to pack, what you’ll wear, and try the best you could to anticipate the conditions of the destination. If it’s cold climate, that changes things dramatically vs warm climate.
Where things are different on a faith journey is that you know if you commit to take this trip, you’ll certainly go places, but you don’t know where. How can you prepare for things you’re not sure will happen? The best thing we can do is examine examples in scripture of what happens when you seek to increase faith. So tonight, we’re going to examine some examples, and what we’re hopefully going to gain is a realistic perspective to prepare our heads and our hearts for what’s next. Are you ready to take this journey with me?
