John 15:8 (NIV)
8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
What is a Legacy?
What is a Legacy?
It is your brand, your contribution to the world, a legacy passed from generation to generation.
Having a legacy mindset is thinking about the future, thinking about the long term,
What you do today can impact someone forever. There's always someone looking at you and imitating you.
EX: meatloaf the mother cut the ends of the meat. When the daughter asked why she did this, she didn't know how to answer, so they asked you, who also doesn't know why..., daughter-mother-vo-biza-why? Biza responds because she couldn't fit in the pot, and she didn't have the money to buy a big pot. I don't know why you guys do it these days...
It's like walking in the sand and leaving footprints in the sand, marks that show the path you walked. The distance you traveled...
Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
People need to see you praying, preaching, paying your debts, overcoming sin, overcoming your addictions,
The world needs to see how you deal with life's problems, in the face of life's difficulties, For when they look at you they will say it could only be God.
So don't be afraid to speak like Paul be my followers as I am of Christ
We have to live intentionally, witnessing what God has done in our lives.
This is LEGACY!
Maybe you think “I'm young, I'm not even married nor have children, this legacy thing is for old people, married”
Everyone here is leaving a legacy.
Whether you like it or not, you are leaving a legacy. Now what kind of legacy you will leave is up to you.
The question we have to ask is are you going to be intentional?
What will you leave for the next generation, is it on purpose?
Many are paying today and living today the consequence of what they left behind for you. It could be a debt, a dirty name, some addiction, illness, bad reputation… That you have nothing to do with it.
Because of someone who lived a wild, aimless life, you pay for it today.
So if you don't think about legacy and live for yourself, it's time for you to stop living a crazy, unruly life, without Purpose and intentionality and start living a dignified life and passing on a dignified legacy to the next generations.
To the point where people thank you for what you left instead of asking “Why did you do this to me?”
I can say that many here are living an addiction that is not theirs, but it comes from someone who didn't think much about the legacy he was leaving.
It was the addiction of someone who didn't want to solve the situation, procrastinated, ignored the problem.
If you search your family for the behavior you come from, you will see in your father, in your father's father and many times your great-grandparents will have the same behavior.
Many here today suffer consequences from someone who didn't have a legacy mindset, a legacy mindset.
But God is telling you that this is enough he can change this behavior When you start thinking about the legacy
So don't say, "I don't care about this legacy business"
Legacy is sowing now to reap later.
Legacy is sowing now to reap later.
To leave a legacy you need to build now to reap later.
Invest now to reap later
Have a Farmer Mindset
it's hard because we're a microwave, drive-thru fast food generation. we want the result without having to go through the process.
A harvest doesn't scare the farmer because he expected The Harvest.
Gym: Many go to the gym thinking about summer. but those who can get through the winter will get through the summer.
many give up in winter but arrive in summer and want the same result.
“They will say how lucky you are” “how did this happen?”
You reply - “it is not luck, result of my effort” “ I know how it happened I expected This result”
The harvest for a farmer is never a surprise because he knows what he has planted he will reap.
And many want to reap without having planted anything
Legacy has to do with a Name
Legacy has to do with a Name
Your first name has to do with you... but your last name has to do with your family.
Philippians 2:7–11 (NIV)
7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
If you search the biggest companies that we know and use every day are nothing more than surnames.

Will Keith Kellogg - developed a mixture with cornmeal, oats and wheat, simply Cereals
Adolf Dassler, who started making athletic shoes when he returned from battle in World War I. The Adidas brand is simply a portmanteau of his nickname, Adi, and the first three letters of his surname.

Meanwhile you think you are using a brand but you are actually using a legacy.
Someone who understood the importance Give a name.
but pastor the bible says: let him grow that I decrease
Names are changed, acquiring a new meaning, generally indicating the type of people they will represent.
1 - From Abram to Abraham: Genesis 17,5
Abram = great father or high father
Abraham = father of many nations or peoples
2- From Jacob to Israel: Genesis 35,10; 32.28
Jacob = deceiver or trickster, supplanter or usurper, or "he that holdth by the heel."
Israel = prince of God, conqueror, who reigns with God.
3- From Simon to Peter: Mark 3:16
Simon = fickle, he that hears;
Peter = rock, stone, firmness;
4- From Saul to Paul: Acts 13,9
Saul = the great;
Paul = the little one;
5 - From Sarah to Sarai: Genesis 17, 15-16,
Sarai = sterile
Sarah = fertile
Jacob > Israel
10 God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel.
Jacob = deceiver or trickster, usurper, literally "he that holdsth by the heel."
Israel = prince of God, conqueror, who reigns with God.
The name of Jacob, which meant trickster, was changed to Israel with the sense of prince of God. Before Jacob was proud of being a smart man, but when he had an encounter with God he learned that he didn't have to try to get what he wants for himself, because he had already been conquered by God to be a prince of his people.
By naming Israel, God was assuring him that he would be a winner and that he no longer needed to use human methods to win. God would be fighting with him all his battles and giving him victory (Genesis 32:28).
- Simon > Peter
Matthew 16:17-18 Jesus replied, “Happy are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father who is in heaven. And I say that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not be able to overcome it.
Simon = fickle, he that hears;
Peter = rock, stone, firmness;
Ephesians 1:5-6 His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family, through Jesus Christ, for that was his purpose and his will. Now all praise be to God for his wonderful grace bestowed upon us because we belong to his beloved Son
5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—
6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
Living an Intentional Legacy
