Group Therapy: Session 1

Genesis 27:1–14 NKJV
1 Now it came to pass, when Isaac was old and his eyes were so dim that he could not see, that he called Esau his older son and said to him, “My son.” And he answered him, “Here I am.” 2 Then he said, “Behold now, I am old. I do not know the day of my death. 3 Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me. 4 And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.” 5 Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt game and to bring it. 6 So Rebekah spoke to Jacob her son, saying, “Indeed I heard your father speak to Esau your brother, saying, 7 ‘Bring me game and make savory food for me, that I may eat it and bless you in the presence of the Lord before my death.’ 8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to what I command you. 9 Go now to the flock and bring me from there two choice kids of the goats, and I will make savory food from them for your father, such as he loves. 10 Then you shall take it to your father, that he may eat it, and that he may bless you before his death.” 11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, “Look, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth-skinned man. 12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to be a deceiver to him; and I shall bring a curse on myself and not a blessing.” 13 But his mother said to him, “Let your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, get them for me.” 14 And he went and got them and brought them to his mother, and his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.
Genesis 27:18–25 KJV
18 And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? 19 And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me. 20 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. 21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. 22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. 23 And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him. 24 And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. 25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine, and he drank.
Genesis 25:20–27 NKJV
20 Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian. 21 Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 But the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. 23 And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.” 24 So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau. 26 Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them. 27 So the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a mild man, dwelling in tents.
Genesis 25:28 NKJV
28 And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

I Had Spit My Father Game So He Would Pay Attention To Me

I have noticed that Adults & Adolescences can develop behaviors or personalities that are influenced by the interactions they had with there father.
But we will Look at that a little later
This Story has many characters that all play an important part in Gods plan
Issac: The Father, His Mother (Sara) & Father (Abraham) only Son together. He’s who God promised, So he was favored… ( Can you imagine growing up entitled?)
Rebecca: The Mother, She was Kin to Ab & Sara

4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac

It can be a dangerous thing Marrying into old Strong Holds God delivered you from..
Essau: (Big Red) Big Brother, The rightful Heir to the family. Loved by his Father because he was a hunter and caught game. But he was easily influenced to sell out his birthright.
Jacob: (Trickster, Conman) Little Brother, very ambitious and very covetous. His momma’s favorite, Because God give her a revelation while they where in the womb, so she knew Jacobs destiny was to reign....
Jacob wanted to be loved, excepted & Seen by his father.
Jacob was willing to pretend he was someone else to be excepted
Jacob’s thirst to be seen by his dad was so intense, He Knew that the consequences could be damaging, but he took the risk.

Where’s my Father? (Invisible/ Absent Father)

Why didn’t he come on my birthday?
I wouldn’t be in this situation if he was around.
Final Point: Step, Adopted & Surrogate fathers
Jesus, father who art in heaven, choose a man to protect him, provide for him, & Love and Train him.
So what me must ask ourselves is, due to discrepancies in my fathers inability to see me for who I am. Who did God choose to fill in the cracks in my life..
And have I honored them appropriately?or should i say it like this Can You See Your Real Father.
Family Isn’t always just blood Relation, Its also God Ordained….
