Fear God

Proverbs 1:7(a) “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge

1. What do you think it means to fear God?

Look at at Isaiah 6:1-5 “In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!””

3. How did God describe Himself?

Look at Isaiah 44:6-7 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.

Look at Isaiah 44:8 “Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.””

4. Does God want us to fear Him or not?

When we understand God we fall in live with God. We realize how much he loves us.

5. When we fear God and understand God what are we to do the the knowledge? (Share it)

6. What did Isiah do with his understand of who God is?

Look back at Isaiah 6:8-9 “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “ ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’”

7. Have you come to an understanding of who God is?

8. Are you being a good witness for God?

If you claim to be a christen you are a witness one way or another either Good or bad.
