To understand the standard God call us to.
Paul wrote this 2,000 years ago, but it describes our culture today:
lovers of self: People are generally self-centered and look out for themselves
Lovers of money: People often are materialistic and struggle to live within their means.
Boastful, proud, and conceited: a simple scroll through your social media news feed highlights people’s high view of themselves
Demeaning, irreconcilable , slanderers, brutal, traitors, and reckless: people are often harsh and speak unkind things of others to make themselves feel better
Disobedient to parents
ungrateful
unholy
We tend to think of the last days as to “the end of the world”
But, Paul writes in Acts 2:17
is literally until Jesus’s return.
2. God’s word shows us how to be saved and sanctified.
The moment we submit to the Lordship of Jesus, and invite him into our hearts is our moment of salvation.
Have you done that?
Not just pray a prayer, but get off the throne of your life and allow Jesus to rule over it.
I can literally scroll through some of your social media accounts and say that answer is no for some of you.
Sanctification= becoming more like Jesus everyday.
diving in his word
making a big deal out of prayer.
If Jesus prayed, should we not pray?
JESUS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR PRAYED.
If we are to become like Jesus, we are to emulate our Savior.
