We also talked about the heart of all men being evil.
The bible tells us that we are all sinners.
All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

However, the catastrophe we going to read about in scripture today is much worse that has happened in the world since.
its as if the whole world got hit with a tsunami all at the same time.

Why the Flood, What did the Lord see?

God saw the wickedness of man was great on the earth.
What does this verse say about mans wickedness? that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
We know that God does not like sin! and these people were continually evil and wicked.

Disobedience grieves God and leads to judgement.
God hates sin and because He is a Just and righteous God, He must punish sin.
What does the scripture say God was going to do because of the evil sin he saw on earth?
Blot out man, and every living creature.

I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.”
Blot out in another way to say completely wipe out or destroy.
That’s how much God hates sin.

The bible tell us some things about Noah, what are they?
He found favor in the Lords eyes.
He was a righteous man
He walked with God.
He found favor in the sight of the Lord
Grace means unmerited favor
Righteous means to be right with God, to be blameless from evil.
Walking with God is following his ways, listening to His voice, and having the courage to do what He says, to heed his warnings and his instructions.
to walk in a manner worthy of their calling—to be everything the Lord desires of them.
Walk is frequently used in the New Testament to refer to daily conduct, day-by-day living
col 1.10 “so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

Noah was around 500 yrs old, and it took appox 140 yrs for the Lord to bring the flood.
That is a long time..... many of us grow weary of doing good, we get impatient and give up.
Noah was faithful, and worked with courage in the face of, danger, mockery, ridicule.
God told Noah how he can be saved from this punishment of all mankind.
Last time I was here with you i told you we have a choice to feed the desires of the flesh, the sinful nature, or that we can listen to God and obey the Spirit.
Was Noah a perfect man?
