A brief history of God and his plan of salvation
John 1:1-13 From beginning to salvation

Christ and all things

Christ is the creator of all things
He was in the beginning, the virgin birth was not his start but his incarnation
He has not changed from the very beginning
Without him there is nothing
Christ is the life and light
In creation he spoke life and light into the darkness of the void (Gen 1:1-3)
He is the source and therefore greater than all things (Heb 1:1-4)

Christ and his own

Christ has had many witnesses (Heb 1:1)
The whole Bible introduces Christ and points to his greatness and his work (Luke 24:19-27)
John was the last witness sent by God to announce the messiah
Every prophet confessed that they were not the Christ
Jesus confessed that he was the Christ (Matthew 16:13-20)
However, his own people did not receive him
This was according to the prophecy of Isaiah that noone would receive him but actually crucify him (Isaiah 53:1-2)
This too was according to the plan of God (Acts 2:21-24)

Christ and his children

Those who received him are given authority to be a child of God
Receiving through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Believing that he is the Messiah, the one from the beginning, the source of all life who came in the incarnation to die for the sins of man (Heb 11:6)
Our salvation is of God
Not by blood- not because of our birth
Not by the will of the flesh- not because of our works of the flesh
Not by the will of man- not because of the decision of any other
God gives salvation to those who willingly and humbly receive the free gift of his son
Are you a child of God?
Does your life reveal this to be true?
