Good Morning and Thank you!

Good Morning Church! Happy Chicken BBQ Day!
I want to thank everyone who had a role in bringing this fundraiser together.
The Pie Baking Team: Steve, Kathy, Joyce, Barb, Nelson, Linda and Even Jackson for a little while.
Communication and Chicken Prep: Joanne, Gary, Nicole, The Yosts, and especially Cameron for cooking!
Thank you Ladies on the inside who are organizing and putting orders together!
The runners on the outside who bring the orders in!
Harry and the Traffic controllers who are in charge of making things run smoothly.
Everyone else that I may have forgotten to include: Thank you for your help!
Transition: This participation reminds me of what Paul writes in Romans Chapter 12:4-8
Romans 12:4–8 NIV
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Many Members, Many Roles

I want to encourage everyone this morning that as members of the Body of Christ, your role today is more than just your specific station, you have so many other gifts to offer!
Use your gifts to build the body of Christ at Diller up today! Encourage one another!
Cheer on the runners as the Zip Back and Forth!
Clap for the Ladies on the Inside as fufill orders!
Compliment the traffic guys on their snazy yellow Jackets.
Thank each other each time you had off something to someone else.
make sure you check on Harry or whoever is at the other end of the church, its a lonely Job out there by the corn field.
Remember that we belong to each other.
That is such an important reality. We arent just part of the Diller Family, but God’s family. We are brothers and sisters.
Show this to the community today, show them that here at Diller church we dont just raise money for the community and beyond, but we are a family that truly belongs to each other.

Why We are Here Today!

We must remember why we are here today! Yes, to raise money for Yamie and MDS, but that is just a small part of the picture. WE arent just here to raise money, or even sell chicken, but to sell Jesus! We do this, as a team working together!
Paul Writes in Romans 15:5-6
Romans 15:5–6 NIV
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The phrase with one mind and one voice comes from a single word in Greek: Homothumadon- Passionate oneness, one scholar describes in as a snarling passion for oneness. That is my prayer for us today. Passionate oneness in all we do!
Unity is the way we will sell Jesus Church!
Unity is howe we can say: To say to the community, Jesus is the one that makes us family, Jesus is the one that has changed us, this chicken is a foretaste of the joy of knowing Christ, and frankly the chicken doesnt even compare!
Jesus says this in John 17:23
John 17:23 NIV
I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
This is how we will change our community and build the Kingdom Church. Its not the chicken we sell, but the Jesus we share!
Would you join me in prayer for this day?
Father I thank you for this day we have before us! Jesus I thank you for the reality that you are with us today. My prayer is that you would draw us together with homothumadon, passionate oneness. I pray that this BBQ would not only be a successful fundraiser, but a successful kingdom building opportunity. I pray someone would see you in us today. I pray someone would come to know you today. I pray that we would experience a deeper lived reality of what it means that we belong together this morning!
