Healing starts with asking. Seeking is what draws us to find and when we find we see the Love of the Father.
Quizes
Who here is afraid to ask a question sometimes?
We all have heard teachers say there is no such thing as a dumb question right.
We have been nervous to ask.
Sometimes we don’t ask because we are scared.
Puzzles
Who likes puzzles, Puzzles often require thinking and problem solving. You know when someone has a riddle and you just want to figure it out so bad.
Sometimes the hardest puzzles require to go looking for an answer.
puzzles can be challenging , but rewarding and now we know the answer and there is a sense of accomplishment.
Doors
Doors require someone else to open.
Requires someone to let you in or at least the door needs a handle.
When you go to someones house you knock first right.
See it feels as though life can feel like a lot of issues a lot of struggles, but God is there for Us. In fact he wants to help you through it all. He wants to change your life.
When Christ came to earth His mission was to help heal the people not just of physical aliments, but most importantly spiritual ailment.
When Christ first helps the leper he first says that his Sins are forgiven and then he goes on to Heal him.
Christ wants to be a part of your life and heal you of all your sins, of your pain, and he came to make life more abundant. But how? How Sway?
I want to go to Matthew 7:7-11
Matthew 7:7–11 ESV
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Background info
In this passage we see a couple different things.
First of all this is the sermon on the mount. A part of it at least
Jesus taught a lot of different things
This is a little different than hearing a rabbi speaking
Know who you are asking from
That word ask is actually a word in the greek that specifically was used when asking someone who was of higher authority than you.
Christ is our King.
Understand this is God’s Idea
The Culture as about laws and rituals, but Christ spoke of relationship
He is a loving Father
He would do anything for you, and he gave everything to you.
Healing is more than Physical
healing is physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, financial, etc.
When we ask remember you’re asking your father who is a king.
Seek with fervently
Knock with a purpose and know that when you knock he receives you.
So life can be full of quizzes, puzzles, and well doors. But we know who made those doors and he tells us to ask him and he will provide those answers and receive you.
Response:
Questions:
Who do you usually ask when you need help?
What is one of the hardest things you have gone through and have you asked God for help?
