you only really get like a third of the flavor stuff

Endurance and Discipline

so great a cloud of witnesses of what?

witnesses of God and a reason to have faith in him

run with endurance, just like your savior did for you

do it with joy just like your savior did for you

you have not shed blood for this either just like the audience of Hebrews did not

isn’t discipline a bad thing?

what does that mean?

God disciplines because he loves us

being a disciplined person doesn’t mean one who is punished for being an idiot but being one who knows how to accomplish what needs to be done

are you going to give up on the gift you’ve been given because what has been asked you seems difficult?

the point is that God loves you like a good parent should, wanting the best for you

he wants you to have contentment and peace, and the way to those is not easy

its not worth giving up eternal life for momentary fleeting excitement. That will only end in tears

Kingdoms and Shaking

the kingdom you live in now is spiritual

it is not filled with physical signs and terrifying things as in the past like with Moses

Jesus has brought us in spirit what we will later walk in in fulness, that is the kingdom of God

worship the one who no longer booms with the mighty voice from the whirlwind, but has simply left us with a promise

what will be left in the end will only be the unshakable

the kingdom and those who were not shaken from it by sin

Application

are you going to be a cheap chicken nugget or are you going to live forever?

what is the kingdom worth to you?

are you going to give up because its hard?

are you going to give up because you can’t see it or hear it?

or will you find peace and contentment in the promise and endure til the end
