(Ruth 1:15-17)
Introduction: 1. I remember when I was a boy, I idolized my father and tried to mimic him
in everything.
2. Peter tells us that Christ is to be an example for us. (1 Corinthians 11:1)
3. Are we following Jesus Christ and His teachings with the dedication that
he desires us to have?

A. Ruth followed Naomi all the way from Moab back to Bethlehem. (Ruth 1:6, 19)
B. We don’t have to go to another country to follow Christ, but are we willing to follow Christ’s example in our lives? (Luke 19:5-10)
C. Jesus came and went to those in need, now the world needs the good news that we carry. (Romans 1:16)

A. Ruth married Boaz as the redeemer and became the great grandmother of David. (Ruth 4:6, 21, 22)
B. We are Christian’s but are other Christian’s really our people? (Acts 2:42, 44,46, 47)
C. We have an opportunity to have fellowship with other Christians every Lord’s Day, but we cannot be part of the people who we are never around. (Hebrews 10:23-25)

A. Ruth devoted the remainder of her life to following her mother-in-law. (Ruth 1:17)
B. We are to commit our lives to Christ but are we allowing ourselves to be drawn away by our own desires? (James 1:13-15)
C. Jesus calls us to be faithful unto death and living for him gives us the assurance of a home in heaven. (Revelation 2:10)
Conclusion: 1. Are we following Jesus with the dedication and sincerity that Ruth
followed Naomi?
2. If we aren’t that dedicated to following Christ then why not?
3. Jesus gave everything for us and all he asks is the same in return.
