Ezekiel Ch 11
I. Vs. 1-3 Perverted Council of the Wicked.
a. The Spirit took Ezekiel to east gate of Temple.
b. 25 princes at the gate (Ezekiel 8:16)
c. The Lord says, “these are the men that despise mischief and give wicked council.”
d. They say: (The Wicked)
i. It is not near! (Ezekiel 12:22)
ii. Let us build houses.
iii. The city is the caldron and WE be the flesh.
II. Vs. 4-6 Prophesy against the wicked council.
a. Therefore, Prophesy against them.
b. The Lord said he knows the things which comes in their minds, every one of them.
c. They have multiplied and filled the streets with the slain (Ezekiel 22:3-4).
III. Vs. 7-12 Prophesy the wicked council to be slain.
a. Therefore,
i. The Flesh- are the slain
ii. The Caldron- is the city (Jerusalem).
iii. BUT I will bring you out of the midst of it!
b. They shall be brought down by the sword.
c. They shall be delivered:
i. To the strangers.
ii. Who will execute judgement.
d. They shall Fall:
i. By the sword.
ii. The city not their caldron (no more protection).
iii. Will be judged on border of Israel.
e. They shall know:
i. I Am the Lord
ii. Because they knew not my statues or judgements.
IV. Vs. 13 Pelatiah dies.
a. When Ezekiel prophesized Pelatiah died (Acts 5:5).
b. Then Ezekiel fell to his face and said:
i. Ah Lord God (Ezekiel 9:8).
ii. Will thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?
iii. App: (Acts 5:5). Annias and Safire
V. Vs. 14-21 Promise for a Remnant.
a. The Word of the Lord said:
i. Thy brethren, thy kindred, and all Israel say:
1. Get far from the Lord.
2. Unto us is the land given in possession.
b. Therefore, the Lord says:
i. Although I have scattered them.
ii. I will be a sanctuary to them where they shall come.
c. Therefore,
i. I will gather you from out of countries.
ii. I will give you the land.
iii. I will give them one heart.
iv. I will put a new spirit within you.
v. I will take away the stoney heart out of the flesh.
vi. I will give them a heart of flesh.
vii. I will be their God.
d. BUT
i. Those who walk not after the heart
ii. I will recompense their way upon their head.
VI. Vs. 22-25 Proclaiming the Vision.
a. The Glory of the Lord went above the Cherubim’s.
b. The Glory of the Lord went from midst of city and stood on mountain.
c. The vision went from Ezekiel.
d. Ezekiel spoke all the Lord shewed him to the people in captivity.
Ezekiel Chapter 12
I. Vs. 1-7 The Rebellious People.
a. Vs. 2 Thou dwellest in rebellious house:
i. Which have eyes but see not.
ii. Which have ears but hear not.
iii. Application: Matthew 13:10-17 Purpose of parables
b. Vs. 3 Therefore prepare to move.
i. Remove by day in their sight.
ii. Remove from thy place to another in their sight.
iii. Go forth at evening in their sight as they go forth into captivity.
iv. Dig through wall in their sight.
v. Carry out thy stuff in their sight.
c. Vs. 6B Cover thy Face.
i. Thou shall not see the ground.
ii. I have set thee for a sign to Israel.
d. Vs 7 Ezekiel did as commanded.
II. Vs. 8-16 The Rebellious Leader.
a. Vs. 8-10 The burden concerns the Prince in Jerusalem.
b. Vs. 11-13 I am your sign. (2 Kings 25:1-7; Jerimiah 52:4-11)
i. It shall be done unto them.
ii. They shall go into captivity.
iii. The prince shall bear upon his shoulders the twilight.
iv. They shall go through the wall.
v. He will cover his face, so he sees not the ground.
vi. He shall be taken to Babylon of land of Chaldeans.
vii. Yet he will not see it and die there.
c. Vs. 14-16 The rebellious people scattered
i. I will scatter his people.
ii. I will draw the sword after them.
iii. I shall scatter them among the nations.
iv. I will leave a few from the sword, famine, and pestilence.
v. That they may declare all their abominations among the heathen.
III. Vs. 17-20 The Rebellious House to be desolate.
a. Eat and drink with carefulness.
i. The land will be desolate.
ii. The cities laid to waste.
IV. Vs. 21-25 The days are at Hand
a. Vs. 21-22 The Proverb of the land that the days are prolonged and every vision faileth.
b. Vs. 23 I will make proverb cease
i. They shall no more use as proverb.
ii. The days are at hand.
iii. And the effects of every vision.
iv. Vs. 24 There shall be no more vain visions or flattering divinations.
c. Vs. 25 For I will speak.
i. And it will come to pass.
ii. It will be no more prolonged.
iii. In your days I will say the Word and perform It.
d. Application: The Day of the Lord is at Hand? 2 Peter 3:2-15
V. Vs. 26-28 The Word I have spoken shall be done saith the Lord God!
Ezekiel Chapter 13
I. Vs. 1-8 The Wrong Builder.
a. Vs. 2-3 They were using the wrong materials!
i. Vs. 2 They were using their own words. Not Gods!
ii. Vs. 3 They were using their own visions. Not Gods!
b. Vs. 4-5 Their Prophets are like Foxes.
i. Foxes are sneaky, deceiving, cunning, they kill.
ii. Vs. 5 They were to fix the gaps in walls and repair the walls which were tore down.
c. Vs. 6-7 The false prophets have seen:
i. Vanity- vain visions. They had not seen anything!
ii. Spoke lying divination’s- Their visions are made up!
d. Vs. 8 Therefore: I am against you saith the Lord God!
II. Vs. 9-12 The Wrong Wall.
a. Vs. 9 My hand upon them.
i. They shall not be in assembly of my people.
ii. They shall not be remembered! In Writing.
iii. They shall not enter the land.
b. Vs. 10 Because They have seduced my people.
i. Saying Peace and there was no Peace. (Jerimiah 6:14; 8:11). 15-20 prior
ii. They had daubed the walls with untampered mortar. They had not properly cemented the walls together.
c. Vs. 11-12 The Walls shall fall.
i. Rain shower.
ii. Hailstorm.
iii. Wind.
iv. Vs 12 The daubing washed away!
III. Vs. 13-16 The Wrong Foundation.
a. Vs. 13 Therefore: I will rend away your wall.
b. Vs. 14 I will break it to the ground. The foundation!
i. Then the Foundation shall fall.
ii. Then you will be consumed.
c. Vs. 15-16 The wall and prophets shall be no more.
d. Application: Matthew 7:24-27
- Wise builders build his house on rock!!
- When you build your life, build it on the rock, on the right foundation for when the storms come and satan tempts you are so grounded you cannot be moved.
- So rooted you cannot be rooted up.
- We are all building- but it is on one of two things!
- Foundational truths:
1. There is a God- look around. Rom 1:20
2. The Bible- true or false. 2 Tim 3:16-17
3. The Christ- Son of God. John 8
4. The resurrection- life after death. Going to live somewhere.
5. One Church- Ephesians 4:4
6. Hell and heaven-
7. Marriage- God created first marriage
The Bible is how we get our armor, so we remain standing!!
Rom 5:1 Peace with God through Jesus
One who does not build on the Bible will take a hard fall!!!
IV. Vs. 17-23 Woe to the Prophetesses.
a. Vs. 17 Woe to the daughters who prophesy out of their heart. (Ezekiel 13:2).
b. Vs. 18 Woe unto them:
i. They sew pillows (Magic bands).
ii. They make veils for their head.
iii. They hunt souls.
c. Vs. 19 They pollute my people for: (Offer cheap services)
i. Handfuls of barley
ii. For pieces of Bread.
iii. To slay souls that should not die.
iv. To save souls which should not live.
v. They do this by lying to the people.
d. Vs. 20-21 The Lord is against them and will tear His people from them.
e. Vs. 22-23 Because of their lies:
i. They have made the righteous sad.
ii. They have strengthened the hands of wicked.
iii. Therefore, I will deliver my people out of your hand.
