The importance of prayer cannot be overstated. The Lord of the church was, of course, devoted to prayer -- "Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray" (Luke 5:16). Now glorified, our Lord intercedes for His people (Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25). The Holy Spirit also intercedes for us (Rom. 8:26). Even Christ's longest sermon includes essential guidance on prayer (Matt. 6). What transformations may come when the righteous pray?
