Inside Out in Acts 7

Inside Out is a way of thinking about what I or others want and what God provides in a storied way that allows Christians to show how God’s way of working and providing is better than the alternatives people use.

Story of Steven

Inside: He shows that he is loyal to the nation of Israel and God by recounting the history.

Out: He shows that those who are truly loyal respond humbly to God rather than resisting God’s revelation through His Spirit.

A lot of Steven’s story has nothing to do with him. It’s all about the nation of Israel that he’s a part of. Where has God worked in the past of your story that has nothing to do with you? How did God save your parents or your grandparents? How does that impact where you are now?

What do people want and how do they go and get it without trusting God and using His ways?

How does God’s story provide a better end to the story than the way people try to go about their own problems?
