The Visible word of God
Chad Bird Unveiling Mercies
Genesis 15:4–5 (NASB95) — 4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” 5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”
Sometimes God’s word is for the ears and the eyes. The Hebrew word DAVAR usually translated as “Word” can also mean “thing or matter. “ when the Lord’s DAVAR came to Abram, he “Brought him outside,” Spoken words don’t usher people out-of-doors, Similarly, when DAVAR spoke to Jeremiah, he also, “put out his hand and touched (Jeremiah’s) mouth” (1:4-9) this divine DAVAR is thus more than a voice dropping from the sky; it is the seeable, touchable, manifestation of God on earth.
The visible DAVAR of the Old Testament is the same DAVAR who was in the beginning who was with God, who is God, and who became flesh and dwelled among us (John 1:1, 14) John says we have seen him with our eyes, we have looked on him, and our hands have touched him (1 John 1:1) He was there all along with his people before his incarnation. And now everlastingly both divine and human, he is with us, “the only son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14).
Christ Jesus, The Word made flesh, may we all receive from you grace upon grace.
And this is another Fine day in the Lord
Matthew 6:22 (NASB95) — 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.
[606] ἁπλοῦς haplous 2× pr. single; hence, simple, uncompounded; sound, perfect, Mt. 6:22; Lk. 11:34* [573]
That is, you have discovered the narrow path that only a few find and your direction is good. You are headed to the ultimate place of maturity in the faith. a place where the faith in you is maximized for the Glory of God. this is powerful! And Satan by no means wants any believer to reach this stage in the Lord.
Yes, you can expect the fiery darts. But you might also find open doors to a better Job, a better position, wonderful opportunities especially where it comes to your finances and providing for yourself and your family.
Some might be thanking God right out for such blessings, but one may also recognize with proper discernment, that rather than a blessing Satan may be offering a distraction, a lure away from one’s spiritual advance. At that point it may be one of the hardest things to do passing by the door of opportunity and that path to maturity.
People may say that you are foolish and it may be a decision that you may look back on from time to time and second guess yourself. But with a signal focus you press forward to your objective.
When those decisions come it is helpful to remember
Matthew 6:25 (NASB95) — 25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
So important is this verse to be remembered in the time when doors of promise opens up and it is also a valuable verse in the time in which we are entering when the government seeks to control us and every area of our lives. what happens when the Christian is no longer able to buy and sell because of his and her faith in Christ. When it comes to the time when the government of the Antichrist dictates over who will receive sustenance and who will not.
Our Lord is the Logistical officer.
IN the United States Military it is the Logistical officer who is a head of the S4, Logistics. The section is responsible to insure that troops are supplied with beans bullets bandages taking the worry of those things having to do with the body in order to free them to do their job on the battlefield.
The Objective of the Christian is his advancement to spiritual maturity. the Lord is our Logistical officer he provides for our needs.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NASB95) — 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
Philippians 4:19 (NASB95) — 19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
And it is that the Lord through his providential hand had known from eternity past what you and I are going to need to accomplish our objective.
When the Lord took the Jews into the wilderness, man woman and child, the Lord provided everything that would sustain them day by day.
Deuteronomy 29:5–6 (NASB95) — 5 “I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandal has not worn out on your foot. 6 “You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or strong drink, in order that you might know that I am the Lordyour God.
And rather than dismissing the Old Testament we must look at it as an example that just has the Lord cared for his people in the wilderness, he cares for our journey through this life serving and following Yeshua until we reach our promised land.
Hebrews 13:5–8 (NASB95) — 5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” 6 so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” 7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
This principle requires us to be reminded from time to time.
Let’s talk about the yesterday for a moment going back to Abraham.
Abraham was very prosperous, so it was not food that he was so worried about. What was bothering Abraham at his old age along with his wife was that he had no heir.
Genesis 15:2–6 (NASB95) — 2 Abram said, “O Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “Since You have given no offspring to me, one born in my house is my heir.” 4 Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.” 5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” 6 Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.
When Abraham was concerned about was that he had no heir and with no heir he had a difficult time seeing how God was going to bless the Father of nations with a people.
The Lord took Abraham out and showed him the stars, that which God had created and said to Abraham, if you have the ability to count these stars, (and you don’t) it will be the same with your people, they will be without number.
The Lord does the same for you and I when we get a little nervous about the basics of life. God not only tells us, but He assures us by providing an object lesson.
Matthew 6:26 (NASB95) — 26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
Fear and worry about our daily bread can easily cause each of us to be taken off the narrow way and away from our spiritual lives. the worry itself can be distracting and even cause us to lose heart, but the very nature that God is so faithful in caring for becomes sticky notes to remind us that God will care for us.
Job 35:11 (NASB95) — 11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth And makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?’
Job 38:41 (NASB95) — 41 “Who prepares for the raven its nourishment When its young cry to God And wander about without food?
Psalm 104:27–28 (NASB95) — 27 They all wait for You To give them their food in due season. 28 You give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.
Matthew 10:29–31 (NASB95) — 29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 “So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
Luke 12:24 (NASB95) — 24 “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!
Jesus in his temptation did not take the bait. The question is will you.
That will depend on the eye. Are you singled eyed focusing on the Lord or are you like the Pharisees who is seeking to sync the heaven and the world together. With one foot in the world and one foot in the kingdom.
The Lord says you cannot have both. If you desire the kingdom you have to bow a knee to the king of that kingdom alone.
Matthew 6:27 (NASB95) — 27 “And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
25.225 μεριμνάω: (derivative of μέριμνα ‘worry,’ 25.224) to have an anxious concern, based on apprehension about possible danger or misfortune—‘to be worried about, to be anxious about
Worry is the misapplication of Truth. It is setting aside truth and elevating the object of our fear and worry above the promises of God.
Once more remember that anything that is raised within the heart over the Lord is an idol. Thus the object of your worries may become an idol that is dictating over your life.
Romans 14:23 (NASB95) — 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.
Thus worry can be a mental attitude sin which must be confessed as such.
The principle is this
Whatever comes that so easily distracts you from your relationship with the Lord and the objective set before you, that you can expect more of.
We must overcome the fear and worry in our lives by trusting explicitly in the Lord to provide and on us ours is to continue to fight the good fight and allow the Lord to deal with our logistics.
