Dealing with Pushback #2 - “Shall We Sin Because We are not under law, but under grace?

Ok, More Sin does not equal more grace… BUT, wait, We can sin (negate the testimony) because… Hey! We Are NOT under the Law! NO!
Three Simple Questions to Consider:

To Whom or What Do You You YIELD Your Physical Body? (6:15-19)

Romans 6:15–19 (NKJV)
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants to obey, you are that one’s servants whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
17 But God be thanked that though you were servants of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of instruction to which you were delivered.
18 And having been set free from sin, you became servants of righteousness.
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as servants of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as servants of righteousness for holiness.

To Whom or What Do You You YIELD Your Physical Body? (6:15-19)

Question Two: What FRUIT Do you Want to PRODUCE? (6:20-23)

Romans 6:20–23 ESV
20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Question Two: What FRUIT Do you Want to PRODUCE? (6:20-23)

Your Own Fruit: Things that are SHAMEFUL leading to DEATH
God’s Harvest: FRUIT UNTO HOLINESS With the Outcome of Eternal Life

Question Three: Do You Know To Whom You are Spiritually Wed? (7:1-6)

Romans 7:1–6 NKJV
1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? 2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. 4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

Question Three: Do You Know To Whom You are Spiritually Wed? (7:1-6)

You are DEAD TO AND DELIVERED FROM THE LAW (so it will not keep reviving sin - Romans 7:4-6)
You are to BEAR FRUIT TO GOD (see Ephesians 2:10)
Our SERVICE is NOT according to any sort of Law (God’s; nor that of gentile making) It is of the SPIRIT
2 Corinthians 3:5–6 ESV
5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
