1 John1:5-2:2
We have been forgiven through Jesus Christ. That does not give permission to sin. We are to strive for perfection. We are to confess our sins and to work hard to be better using Jesus as an example of holiness and righteousness. God's forgiveness is free, it was bought with Christ's blood, and is forever available!
