Trust
One word answer. What is something you trust God with?
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Trust:
And lean not on your own understanding.
Amplified Bible (Chapter 3)
do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
Too often we try to understand God.
We try to understand how?
We try to understand why?
We try to figure things out.
Do you ever plans things out, but things don’t go as planned.
In the Bible, “Lean not unto your own understanding.
Joshua : Jericho. Ealb
Peter:
4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
In both of these cases they were told what to do. But can you trust the Lord in doing something he didn’t tell you to do?
Did God tell David to fight Goliath?
34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock,
35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it.
36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”
37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV)
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
“All you ways acknowledge Him”
David Kill Goliath, He recognized God for who He was.
Peter did so when he walked on the water, but he stunk when he took his eyes of him.
And He shall direct your paths
