Part 1-
Part 1-
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Deuteronomy 20:1 (NKJV)
“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.
Some people trust in what they see
We trust in the name of the Lord
Jehova Rapha- The lord who heals
Trust in the advantages
-Man made religion will try to exclude parts of the Bible
-How does the Bible align with my beliefs
-We should be saying how can I align myself with the Bible
Many sides to the coin of “Christianity”
There’s a facets of Religion:
Argue against the fact that Jesus is the Son of God
That Jesus was just a prophet or good man
Last week our example of false doctrine that the resurrection had already taken place
There’s facets of Christianity:
That worship and or pray to saints
Baptized in one Church
There’s people who believe that tongues and the holy spirit died with the last apostles
There’s people who believe that you have to be poor to be Holy
Finally there’s people who think either it’s God’s will for you to be sick
either to teach you a lesson or to show you something
Or that healing is not for today
-Those theories are not scriptural
Exclusion of Power
it either hasn’t been operational in their lives so they say it doesn’t exist
it becomes more convenient to put the blame back on God for our short comings
I’m here to Show you
Not only does God want you well, but he wants you well more than you do
We default back to God and say well I guess it wasn’t his Will
Or I guess he’s just teaching me a lesson
Or maybe I should be learning something here
Scripturally Inaccurate
God wants you well
it is not His will for you to be sick
as a matter of Fact Jesus was the Word made flesh
Jesus was God made flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The word meaning Jesus
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
Well if it’s God’s will:
Why doesn’t God heal everyone
4 But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” 5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.
We play a part in this
We play a Part in our Salvation too
-Confession is made
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise
God operates under laws that he put in place
For him to operate outside of those laws would mean he’s a liar
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
He healed all who were oppressed
We try to explain ourselves out of the word all sometimes
Well that was Jesus
He gave us the holy spirit
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
The works that he’s talking about didn’t die with the last disciple or “true apostles”
It was beneficial to us that Jesus left earth to send the Holy Spirit
Healing is the will of God and us laying hands on the sick is biblical
40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Will Recover
2 Types of miracles he’s talking about here
Instantaneous
Progressive
Echo(They will)- to possess or contain, have , own
Kalos (recover)-have within onself/be pregnant
Like Mary conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit
Your healing might take place instantaneous
Or your spirit man HAS been healed and it conceived in a spiritual womb if you will till it manifest in your physical body
You own it now through Jesus
it’s up to us to take it
In Luke 4 Jesus isn’t asking every time is this one your will father? Is this one your will?
This one can’t be your will
Jesus knew God’s will
Jesus never prayed if it be your will scriptures
You should stop too!
38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
I’m speculating but I don’t think that Jesus was as worried about the beatings or the loneliness he was about endure
I think more than anything he didn’t want to know what it felt like to take on the sins of the world
Or have His father that he’s modeling his every action turn his back on him for a moment
For The Joy that was set before him he endured the cross
We’d be foolish to not take full advantage of what he gave us
He paid such a huge price for our Salvation
Salvation or Save
SOZO
used interchangeably for salvation, healing, deliverance from Demon possession
Matthew 1:21 (NKJV)
21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Save there is SOZO
52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
Well there is SOZO
36 They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed.
Healed there is sozo
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Notice how all these scripture individually are pointed out collectively by Jesus in Mark 16 which we read earlier
Band:
RECAP:
Healing is for today
Religion has tried to exclude parts of the Bible because:
A. they don’t fully understand what took place for them on the cross (people parish for a lack of knowledge or understanding)
B. try to rationalize and reject the power of God in their lives when it’s not in operation
C. they believe God is withholding something from them
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
The purpose for today is to give you understanding
it takes faith and we play a part
Next week I’m going to talk about our part of receiving
God Show me where i’m missing it (pray this this week)
18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
This is a free gift like salvation
Through Jesus we walk in a newness of life
We were saved(Sozo) by Jesus blood on the cross
Sozo: Salvation, healing (mental, physical, emotion, spiritual healing), deliverance
Same faith we stand on salvation, we stand for healing/deliverance
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
He so proud of you
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
