Mission is a word that is often used in the church. It’s a Christian buzzword, rightfully so. This word MISSION connotes purpose, direction, vision, and strategy. If you’re on a mission, you have an ultimate destination.
As believers we have a mission of great significance. It’s divine and eternal, it’s Gods’ will! It’s often not fast and certainly not always easy to find. However, it’s not impossible. We begin to identify this journey time spent in prayer, and guidance through His word.

Titus…Our Big Picture of God’s Plan

2 Corinthians 7:13–15 NKJV
Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort. And we rejoiced exceedingly more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all. For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true. And his affections are greater for you as he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him.

Titus Disciples Others

Titus gave himself to those around him…He attached himself to those that he was leading.
Titus grew those around him…Titus had a heart to see those he was leading to grow in the Lord.
Titus gained from those around him…Titus was strengthened and encouraged by those that he was leading. More times than not, you’ll find that when you set out to be a blessing to those around you, you end up being just as blessed.

Titus Accepted Leadership

2 Corinthians 8:17 NKJV
For he not only accepted the exhortation, but being more diligent, he went to you of his own accord.
Titus led those that would follow…He would rise to the challenge of leadership. Leadership is far more than simply leading, it’s serving. If you’re not willing to serve, you’ll never truly lead.
Titus accepted responsibility…He was diligent to be the leader that God had called him to be. He worked as unto the Lord.

Titus Overcame Boundaries

Titus 1:5 NKJV
For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you—
Titus left his comfort zones…He wouldn’t be limited to his hometown, state, or even country. Mission will lead you out of your comfort zones.
2 Timothy 4:10 NKJV
for Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.
Titus found growth in new cultures…He also ministered in Corinth. It’s obvious that he was willing to go wherever the Spirit would lead him for the kingdom.
Titus found love for all people…Mission is impossible without compassion. It is the Father’s heart that you love people!
2 Peter 3:8–10 NKJV
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Titus Kept Learning

Titus 1:4–5 NKJV
To Titus, a true son in our common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you—
Titus continued to learn…He was a true disciple. His learning would never stop. We must all remain teachable no matter what our level of experience is. Make sure to be a servant and you’ll likely be teachable.
