Isaiah 9:6–7 “6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”

1 Let’s start this morning with Jesus’s character—1 Peter 2:21–22 “21 For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. 22 He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.”

There was no fault found in Christ. He is the perfect Son of God, without sin.

Matthew 20:31–33 31 “Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” 32 When Jesus heard them, he stopped and called, “What do you want me to do for you?” 33 “Lord,” they said, “we want to see!”

3. Of course we have read about Jesus’ and His loving compassion. Compassion really means “love in action.” Christ not only had love—He showed it. Words mean very little if we do not put them into practice.

Matthew 9:35–37 “35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.”

Do you think that Jesus just ordered us to out to meet others, to have someone to have lunch with, to socialize with, maybe have a java’ at Starbucks? Of course not, His compassion is for our souls, Jesus came to save us, He died on that ole rugged cross so we might be saved through him. Do you know Him today?

There was No person, or is there today a person that lived like Jesus Christ. The whole world remembers His birth, death, and resurrection. He is truly wonderful. We have to be reading the whole story, the entire that let’s us know what God’s plan is.

Matthew 8:15–17 15 But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her. Then she got up and prepared a meal for him. 16 That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. 17 This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”

Christ healed all who were sick. He healed the broken hearts, the broken bodies, and the broken lives. Can Jesus heal you of your sadness, your loneliness, your grieving, your indecision about something? Of course He can, we again, are told over and over in the Bible the things Jesus will do for us if we just invite Him into our lives!

2. Jesus had Dedicated power depending on the situation. Remember Lazarus? He layed in the grave dead for 4 days, I would say that was direct and dedicated power wouldn’t you all? In Matthew 18:10–12, Jesus tells us: 10 “Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father. 12 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?”

Christ’s mission was to seek and save the lost. He left His beautiful home in heaven, and came into this sinful world to live, teach, suffer and die. Jesus does not want 1 left behind.

3. Dictating power. Mark 4:38–39 “38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” 39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.”

We read in He even had power over nature. The wind and waves had to obey Him.

1. The promise of salvation for us all, Mark 16:15–17 “15 And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.”

All man needs to do is to simply believe. If he doesn’t believe, he is lost!

2. The promise of security, He will keep us safe, John 14:27–28 “27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. 28 Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am.” Man seeks security in many different ways, but real peace comes only through Christ.

We read in Isaiah 26:2–4 “2 Open the gates to all who are righteous; allow the faithful to enter. 3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! 4 Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.

3. The promise of satisfaction—John 14:1–3 1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

“In my Father’s house” speaks of heaven. Some day, if we believe in Him, we will go to be with Christ. If we die before He returns, we will go to live with Him.

John 3:16–17 16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”

It has been estimated that there are 32,000 promises in the Bible. All are true! God will keep His Word. Accept His promises. We have to be in God’s Holy Word to know that, have any of you read of God’s promises in scripture this past week?

He was whipped so we could be healed."

1 Peter 2:23–24 “23 He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly. 24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.”

God planned our salvation through Jesus, Jesus paid for it, and the Holy Spirit brings it. Through His blood we have forgiveness—Hebrews 9:22 ( “”22 In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness."
