Characteristics of Trust

Trust is the most important ingredient in any relationship

the glue of any meaningful connection with another person.

it involves being vulnerable to another person yet also being trustworthy so that the other person has good reason to extend his trust.

Without trust, people feel the need to control themselves, other people, and any perceived threat in their environment. The methods of control vary widely: demands, anger, self-pity, frenetic action, giving in, running away, acting superior, and so on.

With these characteristics in mind, can you identify any trustworthy people in your life?

For a relationship to work, both must be trustworthy and both must be willing and able to take risks to trust the other.

In Leviticus 19 We see how God wants the Israelites to trust Him in one thing. To rest every Sabbath so that they would never forget their true identity as Holy people.
Remember, they were living in the wilderness and trying to establish a new country. Plus they were used to work, work, work as slaves. But God says, life is not about work. Do you trust me?
We are not trying to start a new country but our societies are complex and people often feel valued by what the do with their lives. So they busy themselves trying to achieve that idea that makes them feel worthy.
But God says. Rest!! Do you Trust me? you are way more that what you think you are accomplishing in Life.
What if I’m not accomplishing anything, what if I’m failing? Well God says Rest!! So that you can find out who you truly are and pursue with passion what truly matters in life.
Keeping Sabbath is not about doing nothing in Saturday but about stopping from your normal rhythm in life to nurture an attitude that trusts and rests in the Grace and Power of God for the well-being of your life and those around you.
Matthew 11:28 LEB
Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
