Psalm 92:1 (NKJV) — 1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
Scripture of the week
1 Timothy 1:17 (NKJV) — 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Having recounted God’s grace, mercy, love, and faithfulness toward himself and all who believe, Paul then burst into praise,
Our God is King, He is eternal
He is the God of of power and sovereignty over all the affairs of men and angels
Our God is immortal—eternal, beyond the reaches of death or decay, above all the created order;
invisible - beyond the constraints of the physical, beyond the approach of humankind;
The only God—not only his supremacy, but his exclusive claim as authority,
The foundation of Christian belief is that or God is trustworthy, incomparable, self-existent
Our God is rich in mercy and love and so is to be given honour and glory for ever and ever.
. The only wise God, God is the source of wisdom.
But He is not the only one that has wisdom for Christ, the Holy Spirit, angels and humans also have wisdom
Proverbs 2:6 (NKJV) — 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
the King, eternal, King forever, King of all ages
Psalm 145:13 (NKJV) — 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
immortal—The oldest manuscripts read, “incorruptible.” The Vulgate, however, and one very old manuscript read as English Version
Immortal— Can not die, can not stop to exist
If God is immortal, and man's spirit is immortal, then it is a settled fact that the inner man is just as immortal as God.
invisible - Can not be seen
Exodus 33:20 (NKJV) — 20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”
John 1:18 (NKJV) — 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
Colossians 1:15 (NKJV) — 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Hebrews 11:27 (NKJV) — 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
Honour - respect for the person who deserves, such respect.
Who deserves more respect than God
To honour God is to put God first in everything
Glory refers to the splendour of God and his divine presence.
For ever and ever. The thought of eternity (terrible as it is to unbelievers) is delightful to those assured of grace
Forever and ever Expresses the conviction that God is worthy of endless worship and adoration.
Amen Expresses agreement or endorsement of what is said about God
Psalm 72:19 (NKJV) — 19 And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen.
Psalm 89:52 (NKJV) — 52 Blessed be the Lord forevermore! Amen and Amen.
Revelation 4:11 (NKJV) — 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honour and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
Revelation 5:13 (NKJV) — 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honour and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
As we give God glory and honour for all these qualities that we have mentioned, the Lord will get involved in our situation.
Joshua 7:13 (NKJV) — 13 Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”
