Kingdom Life

Not of This World

Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:7 NKJV
Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
What does the Kingdom of God look like?
Why is this important or relevant to us today?
How does this affect the world we live in today?
A kingdom is a form of government that is lead by a king. Today Kings are not looked upon with favor or as an option for governments.
the Idea of having a man in power who doesn’t have to answer to anyone makes our soul cringe.
but Jesus uses this form of government to explain His title.
John 18:37 (NKJV)
Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”
Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
A king doesn’t have to answer to anyone.
When a King says something its law.
When Jesus was questioned, before His crucifixion, by Pilate. Are You the king of the Jews?
Jesus answered
John 18:36 NKJV
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”
John 12–21 (2) The First Interrogation of Jesus in the Praetorium (18:33–38a)

The fundamental attribute of Jesus’ kingdom is that it is not derived from or out of this world.

Understanding that This world is not where the Kingdom of God came from or is out of.
John 18:10 NKJV
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
John 12–21 (2) The First Interrogation of Jesus in the Praetorium (18:33–38a)

Accordingly, it would not do battle with the Romans by means of earthly weapons. Jesus’ kingdom had its origin and strength external to the world, and therefore his followers would not take up arms to prevent his being “handed over.”

John 12–21 (2) The First Interrogation of Jesus in the Praetorium (18:33–38a)

Peter’s way in 18:10 was not the way of Jesus. Jesus’ kingdom is not a piece of land on earth or involved in earthly power and domination.

So many times it is easy to get caught up in the injustices of the world and the wrong things people are doing and we want to take matters into our own hands.
The Kingdom of God is different. Its not of this world.
therefore we who want to be part of this kingdom cannot think we operate as the world operates.
This world is just a tool used by God to reach His people. When God created the heavens and the earth His desire was to have fellowship with Us. Was to create a place where God would be our God and we would be His people.
The moment we chose sin, the world was condemned and now the work of Redemption was set in play. This world is not the end game. This world will be destroyed one day according to the bible.
Why would God be so interested in saving something He already proclaimed would be destroyed?

Guard You Heart!

We must guard our hearts from the things of this world. God in His wisdom has warned us.
1 John 2:15 NKJV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Renew Your Mind

God has instructed us to Think differently… With a renewed mind. Not the way the darkness thinks but as children of the light. Children who have a father a king.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Practice Your Peace

God’s word is spoken for our peace! Hold on to it!
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Learn to Fight the Good Fight!

So many times we think that if we battle as the world does that we are gaining… it isn’t true
2 Corinthians 10:3 NIV
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.

Be Holy!

Remember to set yourself apart!
Titus 2:11 NKJV
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
Titus 2:12 NKJV
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

Be Obedient to God!

1 John 2:17 NKJV
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Discern with Wisdom and Understanding

1 John 2:16 NKJV
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

Light up your Corner of the World

1 John 1:5 NKJV
This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

Trust God, Don’t lean On Your Own Understanding

1 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.

Walk In the Light

John 8:12 NKJV
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Seek The Way of the Kingdom of God

Matthew 6:33 NKJV
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Know Your King
