Definition of Jealousy
To envy is to want something which belongs to another person.
Jealousy is the fear that something which we possess will be taken away by another person.
Galatians 5.19. now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, 20. idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21. envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
A. Jealousy is in the list of the works of the flesh, along with murder, idolatry, witchcraft, ect.
B. "... they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (vs.21)
A jealous ear hears all things.
Envy eats nothing but its own heart.
Envy is not seeing our own gifts.
Jealousy is like a cancer, if you don’t kill it, it’s going to kill you
