Jesus as a Friend of Sinners

Friend – a person whom one loves and trusts

Two types of friendships; NORMAL and REAL

REAL FRIENDSHIP with the world

1. Matthew 11:18-19

Everyone is reached differently; Everyone is reaching differently There are unreachable FOCUS: Power of the Message, not how we present it

2. Jesus was a friend to the world, but the world wasn’t His friend!

John 15:14 “You are My friends when you do whatever I command you.”

3. You cannot be a close friend unless they are Christians or you become like them!

James 4:4 “…whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
