0074 Compassion

I have compassion

compassion – a quality of showing kindness or favor, or being gracious.

~ no compassion of Jesus without the action

Matthew 14:14 “…healed their sick.”

Matthew 18:27 “…forgave him his debt.”

Matthew 20:34 “So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.”

Mark 1:41-42 “And Jesus, moved with compassion, put out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.”

Luke 7:13-15 “When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.”

~ no compassion without a reason

Matthew 9:36 “…they were harassed and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.”

Luke 10:33 “…and he saw him he had compassion.”

Luke 15:20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”

Compassion of a response to a action or a need, instead of just a having mercy.

Because they now have continued with me 3 days and have nothing to eat

~ continued for 3 days until now

they overcame the temptation of giving up

many are called few are chosen; chosen stayed

Joseph, Samuel, David, Abraham, Disciples, John 15 “Abide (continually)”

~ have nothing to eat

the need is not bigger than what they’ve got already

the need was developed while continuing with Jesus

Jesus is not ignorant of your need

INVITATION: DON”T LEAVE JESUS!

I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way

~ responds to need

~ responds to hunger

~ I do not want (will, desire, or wish)

He developed hunger for a reason.

He knows the need, cause he has it too.

Some of them have come of afar Mark 8:3

Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great crowd?

~ where? (no where) (our location proves that it’s impossible, don’t worry, there is a way)

~ not little, but enough

~ bread

~ not where, but how? The reason came because of you, and the answer is going come through you.

~ ~ ~ what do you have is more than enough in God’s hands, for He will receive the glory, if it’s enough without God, God will ask you to let some of it go.
