EXCHANGE

“I was punished that you might be forgiven” - Jesus

Jesus paid the penalty for sin, so He ALONE can forgive sins

Matthew 9:6 “...The Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins.”

Example: Earth is God’s property for created everything.

Little kid brakes my car, and Abner forgives him.

Abner cannot do it unless He will pay for it

Ephesians 1:7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin...”

Forgiveness equals to cancellation

Forgiveness is not forgiveness if you have to pay for it

Isaiah 1:18 “...says the Lord, though yours sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool...”

Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.”

Forgiveness is free of change for you, but it was full of change for Jesus!

The fall of man (Genesis 3:1-12; 21)

Character and offer of the devil

The devil hates God

The devil hates you because you remind him of God (Genesis 1:26)

The devil is a liar (John 8:44)

* his primary lie is, “God is withholding good from you” (Genesis 1:5) – this produces hatred toward God

* his primary lie today is, God is boring, God is for older people, God doesn’t want me to have fun...

* his primary lie is, “you will be like God” ~ he was cast out of heaven because of this lie (Isaiah 14:14)

* his primary lie today is, pride, selfishness, no need for God, God helps those who help themselves...

The devil will never offer you anything that is not poisonous

* gifts of the devil are externally attractive (Genesis 3:6)

* the truth is: “what you sow is what you will reap” (Galatians 6:7)

* examine the lie of the devil to Eve: Eve didn’t become God, didn’t gained any additional good knowledge, Eve became embarrassed (embarrassment is not good feeling), was cast out of the Presence of God, and brought curse upon herself, the nature, and future generations.

Doesn’t this sounds like a poisonous?

Wrong attitude of man

Sewed fig leaves and made themselves coverings (Genesis 3:7; Matthew 22:1-14) – it’s self-righteousness

God had tunics of skin (Genesis 3:21) – it’s righteousness of Christ

Hid themselves behind the bushes (Genesis 3:10)

Blamed God and woman instead of repenting for sin (Genesis 3:12)

God is still asking, “Where are you Adam?”

Adam hid himself in the bushes and as a result was cast out of the Presence of God.

Prodigal son instead, ran to the Father and was accepted into the Presence of the Father.

Everyone of us will stumble somewhere, somehow...what will you do, “run to” or “run from” God?

Conclusion:

Sin puts you in a place where God has to destroy you.

Example: truck runs over the little child; God ran over His own Son, that He might spare you.
