The Mystery
The level of your revelation of His passion toward you will determine the level of your passion toward Him
Your love for God is an outcome of your revelation of His love toward you
We are children while angels are servants
God expects us to forgive 499 times from the overflow of us being forgiven by Him 499 times
Matthew 13 ~ He found the pearl and then sold everything that He had
Ephesians 5:22-33
Illustration #1 ~ Jesus is the head of the Church, as husband the head of wife; husband and wife do not have the same body, character and personality but the same heart (verses 22-28)
Illustration #2 ~ Jesus is the head and the Church is the body
The elephant story
God uses illustrations to give us a glimpse of the relationship that He has toward us.
Shepherd with sheep; friend with his friend; potter with clay; father with son; branch with vine; husband and wife
These are the shadows of the real substance which is God’s relationship with us His people.
Colossians 2:16-19 “So don't let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new-moon ceremonies or Sabbaths. For these rules were only shadows of the real thing, Christ himself. Don't let anyone condemn you by insisting on self-denial. And don't let anyone say you must worship angels, even though they say they have had visions about this. These people claim to be so humble, but their sinful minds have made them proud. But they are not connected to Christ, the head of the body. For we are joined together in his body by his strong sinews, and we grow only as we get our nourishment and strength from God”
- no condemnation for not doing what was fulfilled in Jesus Christ
- condemn you by insisting on (false humility) self-denial
- worship of angels cause of humility cause we are unworthy to speak to God directly – he saw a vision but it was inaccurate – he was disconnected from the Head (why? – sinful minds, pride)
Ephesians 4:15-16 ~ same as to Colossians
1 Corinthians 12:12, 27 ~ we are the body of Christ
Christ is the head – the Church is the Body
Church is an individual
Christ has a relationship toward His body as you have toward yours
The body of Jesus is perfect, moving, working – how about us?
We cannot do what Jesus did unless we will be who Jesus was
Jesus did everything the Father did
Do you receive the care from Jesus as your body receives from you?
“For this reason...”
Reason to be part of His body, or how to be a part of His body?
- Leave “mother and father”
Sanctification – is set apart from into something
- Join to “his wife”
- Two become one – it’s a progressing process (1 Corinthians 6)
