Self-Image

We are like wild dogs by nature; but wild dogs are not a treat if they are on leash or tied or chained. World is God’s property. You will never arise above the level of your self-image. The chain is your self-image. God’s view of who you are removes that chain. ALL means freedom, unlimited, no chains anymore. Self-image

TESTIMONY

Jesus carried your shame not for you to caring it again

Jesus suffered pain but also pain from shame, you are the teacher He is your substitute

- Good self-esteem is as bad as low one if it’s based on the same source as low one. Biblical self-image is not feeling good about yourself but feeling right about yourself.

- What if I take what your low or good self-image is based on what will you have?

- You cannot afford to base your self-image on the sand (past, fitness, people) but on the rock in case of storm you are in trouble.

- Self-esteem is how much person appreciates her own worth and importance

IMPORTANCE OF SELF-IMAGE

“Most of us heard who we are not, but not all of us heard who we are”

- Our attitude toward others is determined by our attitude toward ourselves “love as yourself”

- Other’s attitude toward us is determined by our attitude toward ourselves

- Do not try to change what others think of themselves instead of allow God to change you

- People with wrong self-image are most likely not to be used by God

- People with wrong self-image live gazing on their rearview mirror (past is ended last night)

- People with wrong self-image struggle with comparisment (pride, discouragement)

DEVELOPING GOD’S VIEW OF OURSELVES

Our self-image needs to be determined by the truth instead by the facts

When self-image is based on what God says then the Word becomes our source and fuel instead of people or circumstances

- You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:36)

It’s a fact that or that happened to you or what you are feeling about yourself but we are set free by truth not a fact

- The truth is what God says you are and lie is everything else that doesn’t lines up with that truth

- The word is the mirror that you look into (face is your identity)

- The belt is the truth that tights your waists for the clothes not to fall off (nakedness is exposure to the facts, shame)

THE CREATION OF MAN

God formed you (Gen.1:27) ~ God got personally involved in creating you, not like all other creation

God created you in His image/likeness (Gen.1:26) ~ Men bears imprint of God, you remind the devil of God

God blessed man (Gen.1:28) ~ God blessed not cursed you and you personally

God said that you were good (Gen.1:31) ~ God didn’t make a mistake created you the way you are; many of the beautiful animals would want to have what you have

God says that you are “more than conqueror” “wonderfully and fearfully made” “I can do all things” “If God is for me who can stand against me” “Greater is He Who lives in me” “No weapon formed against me shall prosper” “I give you the power” “Nothing can separate me from God’s love” “I am new creation in Christ” “Sons through faith in Jesus” “I am light” “Ambassador” “man of valor (fearlessness, courage, bravery, boldness)” “warrior”
