“Lazarus was sick”
“Lazarus from the town of Mary and Martha”
“Mary – anointed Jesus and wiped His feet”
“Sisters sent to Jesus…Him whom You love is sick” – Inviting Jesus to come and heal Lazarus not because I am devoted to Him but because He loves Lazarus “Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus”
“…He heard…He stayed for two more days…” – delay is the test of faith (to Mary & Martha), delay is the lesson on faith (to disciples) and delay is the worship (to God) – same story with the Gentile woman
“Your brother will rise again” – eyes need proof but faith needs a promise
“I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day” – hope is in the head and it’s for future, faith is in heart and it’s for now.
“Where did you laid him?” - Jesus wanted to show her what to do with the word of promise after He will die
“Take away the stone” – acting on your faith. It’s not how much but how you use your faith that matters. Faith without works is dead. Giving sowing is the act of faith for financial breakthrough. Jesus saw the faith of the four man (Luke 5:20)
“If you would believe you would see the glory of God” - Faith is the only channel through which the power of God flows (Gal.3; John 16)
“Father, I thank you that you have heard Me” – Real faith, God heard your prayer not when you saw the answer but when you prayed. Praying without faith is useless.
“Lazarus, come out” – Power of the Word. The authority of Jesus and His word understood by the centurion.
“Many who have seen believed in Him” – Biblical faith in on unseen
