You cannot walk in power in public without walking in presence in private
When are you happy, when God visits your public or private life?
Revelation of the El Roi (Gen.16:13)
The pressure of knowing that someone sees is motivational
Being influenced by the knowing that God is watching
Walk before Me and I will give you multitudes (Gen.17)
Hezekiah walked before God and pleased Him (2 Kings 20)
Making impression on God or people? What impresses God is what is unseen by people
Humility or pride
Fear or boldness
Brokenness or wholeness
Poverty or riches
Hate or love
Remorseful feeling or good self-image
Depth or length of prayer
Inward substance or outward appearance
Character or charisma
Motives or results
Thoughts or actions
Hunger or blessing
Heart or mind
The Importance of the Private Life
House build on foundation, foundation on rock (Luke 6:48) strong during storm because was founded on rock
Your public life will fall if it’s not made of invisible elements “private life” (1 Cor.3:5-16)
Invisible always gives birth to visible (Creation, Moses & Jacob)
Fruitfulness comes after intimacy (John 15)
God is not rewarder of publicity but of privacy (Mt.6:6)
Jesus is attracted by the leaves but captured by the fruit of the tree (Mt.21:19)
God has His spot light on you when others have it off you
The closer to the light you get the darker it gets
The Depth of the Private Life
You are as big “effective” as the depth of your private prayer life (salt is not sweet makes others thirsty)
The principle of the vine (John 15) – fruit as result of abiding on vine – if your devotion doesn’t effect you it’s pointless
Biggest hindrance to depth is satisfaction “nickel blocking the sun”
Intimacy will bring about blessing but blessing will never bring about intimacy
Moses unsatisfied with power hungered for person
Only those who pursue will be become catchers
Pursuit, presence or person
