Jesus is the Seed

Fruits are love, peace, joy, longsuffering, kindness, goodness and self-control (Gal.5:22-23)

Heart is the ground

What is it to be fruitful? Let Christ grow

Luke 13:6-9 Vinedresser came seeking fruit and found none

Is tree taking up space or producing fruit?

The root of fruitlessness is in the ground not in the tree

Hard Ground

Junk on the top and good on the bottom

Seed falls upon it but not in it

Birds snatch the seed

Sin hardens the ground

Double Ground

Good on the top and junk on the bottom

Seed falls into it not just on it

Sun exposes what is under the ground

Rootlessness is the problem not the birds

Sin is the root of defeat not the cause of success

Joshua’s defeat because of Achan (Josh.7)

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Joshua, Job, Uzziah, Jotham, David, Solomon & Hezekiah were successful

Lot, Achan, book of Judges, Saul, Ahaz and kings of Israel were not successful because of sin

Success comes from God (Josh.1:8; Ps.1)

Sin separates God from us

God left Israel because of sin (Josh.7)

Hold on to the promise not the feeling

People leave the church after they leave God – Lucifer, Adam, Lot, Gehazi, prodigal son, Judah & Dimas

People don’t know God because of sin not of lack of spirituality

Sin is divorce; brings about hatred toward God

Sin stands between you and God

Sin corrupts the most innocent (Lucifer and David)

Sin is disobedience not just a harm done to others

We cannot justify our sin we can only repent of it

Hate is given to us to hate evil and sin not the humans

Sin cost God His Son

Brokenness is like breaking the alabasters box and the smelling of aroma came about (Mark 14:3)
