Burned out in Ministry
Isaiah 40:30 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint”
“We cannot justify our barrenness by our philosophies”
When we fail to fulfill our ultimate purpose - we will burn out
Love for God cannot be replaced by the love for the ministry We were not created for ministry but for God
Truth demonstrated through marriage – the relationship God desires between Him and mankind. As Eve came out of Adam, so as we came out of God, as Eve created for Adam, so, as we created for Adam. Truth demonstrated through sexual union – intimate union God wants with mankind. The verb used for the phrase “to know God” is also used for sexual union. There is a please of knowing God which is true reality. Sexual union is a physical demonstration of one’s need for intimacy with a loving God. We are sons not slaves in Fathers house
Illustrated in the life of Jesus (Matthew 17:5)
Before ministering He had to hear that His Father delights in Him My Son – not My servant or a slave
We are not sons of God cause we deserve it, we were born into His family My Beloved
Eye is the most sensitive part of the body New born baby is the most priceless gift for mom The price of your salvation gives you a clue of your worth in God’s eyes I have been delighted in Him Illustrated in the life of the prodigal son (Luke 15)
Nature of the hired servant
Has connection without relationship Knows about the Father without knowing the Father Outwardly present with the Father but inwardly attached to the world
He is not better then younger son – for God judges private as though it’s public; inward as though it’s outward. Laboring church without passion for God (Revelation 2:2-5) Pharisees spirit – worshiping God with lips but not with heart Children of God (Matthew 17:3)
Convert to become like children
Children never worry about anything and without need (Matthew 6) Daddy has designed a plan for my life (Jeremiah 29:11) Holy Spirit was given to us because we are children (Galatians 4:6)
when we fail to know the ways of God - we will burn out
Law of sowing and reaping (John 4:34-38)
When seed is sown it’s like loss, no results for a long time till it comes up little by little You are not a failure if you done what you had to and no success is seen cause before God sower and reaper are the same Don’t be lead, discouraged, moved by what you see (Man that spread flyers for 40) Delay is not denial
Every prayer is going to be answered in God’s timing not yours; prayers are stored up in God’s cup The last thing God can do is lie Saul couldn’t wait – He though God didn’t figure it out Moses could wait to hear from God and was delivered in the face of obstacles Don’t quit too soon God’s way is progressive
God leading Israel through wilderness not through the land (Exodus 13:17) Joshua conquered city after city; town after town; land after land David didn’t become king over all the Israel in one day but after 7 years of his reign over Judah Children grow before they become responsible adults Preparation
Importance of the future destiny can be measured by the length of the preparation Measuring success with human ruler
Success is measured by the quality and not quantity Success is measured not by where you are going to but what you are leaving behind Success is obedience and faithfulness Faithfulness, not results is what the Master looks for
We will burn out when we use God instead of being used by god
“Do not use God to grow the ministry instead of allow God to build His Kingdom through you”
The responsibility of the gatekeeper, clay, branch, sheep, and child Esters lesson:
If your enemy is the King’s enemy, then your battle is the King’s battle God never said that we were greater than our enemies, He only said “He who lives in us is greater...” King of Judah, Abijah, Jehoshaphat knew the secret – rely on God (2 Chr.13-20) Holy Spirit was given for reason God reconciled the world through Jesus (2 Corinthians 5)
We will burn out when we BRAKe GOD’S LAW
Law of delegation
Pride (self-centeredness; ego) pays off Law of the day of rest
God rested on 7th day; Jesus rested with disciples in the wilderness Rest in the presence of Jesus
We will never burn out when we will be like Jesus
Those who are tired invitation is extended to become like Jesus (Matthew 11:28-29) The heart, mindset, goal, ambition, and lifestyle of Jesus (Philippians 2:5) Give a reason why Jesus never worried? Never burned out?
Dependant totally on Father Driven not by decisions but disciples
