Difference between the work of the Cross and the Principle of the Cross

You can’t see souls until you will be on the cross (powerful)

Overcoming temptations...

Before God used Moses to deliver Israel out of Egypt, he will deliver Egypt out of Moses

Before God used disciples to fish the man they had to leave fishing of fish

God tests when devil tempts!

Chose to suffer with the people of God (11:25)

Looking onto Jesus (12:2)

Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me’”

Cross is symbol of death and crucifixion (death is not without pain for it is loss)

Crushed grapes make finest wine

Crushed olives make good oil

No price without the cost

No crown without the cross

No victory without the fight

No resurrection without crucifixion

“If you are not willing to give all of you, I am not interested in part of you”

Death is illustrated in the seed

Jesus is the Seed of Abraham Seed – sons of the kingdom (Matthew 13:37-38) Seed cannot produce without dying (1 Corinthians 15:36; John 12:24)

Death of Jesus torn down the veil (self) and the door to the holy of holies is open

Those who suffer will cease to sin (1 Peter 4:1-2)

They overcame the enemy with not loving their lives (Revelation 12:11)

Hurt people hurt others; healed people heal others

Through the cross world is “turned off” and I am “turned off” from the world (Galatians 2:20)

You are not a treat or dangerous unless you are dead

You will never be persecuted if you are not confronting

Selfish and Selfless Living

What began as a selfish act under a tree...ended with a selfless act on a tree

Adam – selfish in the Garden

Jesus – selfless in the Garden

One hand reached for a tree, another was nailed to it

Self is the veil, our fallen nature living on, unjudged within us, uncrucified, the enemy of our lives, an effective block to our spiritual progress, it’s not something we do, but something we are, cannot be murdered by righteousness of Jesus, hides the face of God, cannot be removed by instruction, but be spiritual experience, is made of spiritual tissue, to touch it is to touch us where we feel pain; to tear it away is to injure us; to hurt us and make us bleed.

Self-sins are self-righteousness, self-pity, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, self-admiration, self-love.

To rip the self of which our life is made of can be never be anything by deeply painful

That what the cross did to Jesus and it is what the cross would do to every man to set him free

We are not capable of tearing the self on our own

We ought to invite the cross to do it’s deadly work within us

We ought to bring our self-sins to the cross for judgment

We must be prepared for the suffering in some measure like our Savoir

We ought to yield that self to God and trust that He will operate us

We ought to confess, forsake, and renounce the self-life, and then reckon it crucified

We ought to not confuse self-crucifixion with God-crucificixion doctrine

The cross is rough and it is deadly, but it is effective

The cross doesn’t keep the victim hanging there forever, finally victim dies
