Thou Shall Not Follow a Crowd
Exodus 23:2 “You shall not follow a crowd to do evil…”
Mark 1:17 “Follow Me…”
Christians need to replace word “are you saved?” to “who do you follow?”
Everyone follows someone; the question is not if but who do we follow
You can’t follow Christ and crowd at the same time
The difference between Christians and the world in following not belief
Crowd followers say everybody is doing it
Christ followers say what would Jesus do?
Don’t call yourself a Christian if you do what everybody is doing
Sheep are known for following Shepherd but goats for following goats (John 10:4)
Where is “I” reveals who you follow
“I” on the throne then you follow crowd
“I” on the cross then you follow Christ
The first requirement to follow Christ is to remove “I” (Matthew 16:24)
“I” is the root of miserable life while the removing of “I” is the root of abundant life
Christ says deny “I” while crowd says deny Christ
Dull Christian life is poor advertisement. The cure is removing of “I”
You will become whatever you follow
Crowd – you’ll loose your identity
Christ – you’ll gain your uniqueness
Israel’s tendency to always follow the crowd (1 Samuel 8:5, 20)
They wanted to be like the very nations God destroyed
They wanted to be like other nations means that God wasn’t good enough king (1 Samuel 8:7)
We were saved to change the world not to be changed by it
Those with Christ will never be able to fit into the crowd
Noah, Israel, Elijah, Daniel, Ester, Jesus, disciples, Martin Luther, Baptist, Pentecostal
The fact that you can’t swim against the flow is the proof that you are not alive
Crowd doesn’t mind you believing in Jesus as long as you don’t take Him seriously
Satanist and Muslims don’t care about what you think about them but you do
Quit putting Mercedes emblem on the Geo
Crowds don’t help but hinder people
Crowd blocked the way for the woman with issue of blood (Mark 5:21-34)
Crowd made it impossible for man’s healing but desperation has its own doors (Mark 2:1-12)
Crowd said nothing will happen out of her dead body but Jesus put that crowd behind (Mark 5:40)
Crowd warned him to be quiet but he didn’t (Luke 18:35-43)
The kingdom of God suffers violence but violent man take it by force (Matthew 11:12)
