Don’t Envy Sinners
Sinner is like grass, soon to be cut by the blade Righteous is like tree, soon to be producing much fruit Never get jealous for someone who builds his life on the sand Don’t envy the fish that found a womb on the hook or mouse that found cheese in mouse trap ILLUSTRATION: Being a fool or cool in School (it’s not how you start it’s how you finish) Trust God & Do Good
Safety from accidents, terrorists, looses, sickness, poverty, emotional trauma Prosperity (success, blessing) is the pie, where money is just one peace, health, provision, protection Two sides of one coin: trust in God and do good
Trust in God – make Him your source of love, security, income, health and salvation We will trust, worship, fear, seek to please someone anyway, choose Him Do good – our sins block the flow of God’s blessings
ILLUSTRATION: Hey daddy catch me?; Olympic blind skaters followed ones with vision by their words Delight In The Lord
The key which turns desires into reality Some believe, serve, worship God but with sadness, grief, sorrow, pain, and complaining You will delight in something anyway
Delight in alcohol and you’ll be in jail; in drugs and you’ll be poor; in sex and you’ll have AIDS; delight in yourself and you’ll be disappointed Constitution gives us a right to pursue happiness but you have to catch it yourself (B. Franklin) The joy of the Lord is your strength. Kingdom of God is joy, peace and righteousness Happiness is found in things but joy is found in person
Countenance is a press conference that your face calls to give the state of union of your soul
ILLUSTRATION: you’re in church, don’t smile, cry it’s better
