CATASTROPHE OF COMPARING
Comparing with Others (2 Cor.10:12) The parable of talents: gave each according to his ability (Mt.25:14-30) Everyone has different talents according to our ability: flying, driving, & walking Cain killed Abel over comparing & Saul sought to kill David over comparing Rachel and Leah (wanted to die, wrestled, they were sisters)
Comparing with Future Martha postponed resurrection & criminal postponed salvation Now faith is; hope is for future but faith is for today 2135 times word NOW; Today is the day of salvation; Today salvation came to this house Remember enjoying the past, promise to enjoy the future but hate the present Enjoy the journey because success is not destination, it’s a journey
Comparing with Past Keep your eyes on future, your feet on present but your mind on past Lot’s wife became pillar of salt because her heart was in her past while her feet were in her present Israel became pillar of salt because their hearts were in their past while their feet were going to promise land Complacency comes when our heart is in the world; we should be people of salt not pillar of salt Chained dog is harmless; whoever you don’t forgive you give power to control your effectiveness God didn’t say to remember the future but to remember the past (Passover, Stones of Memorial) National holidays (Easter, Christmas, 911, Martin Luther King, 4th of July) Personal holidays (b-day, anniversary, salvation, healing, deliverance, communion) Remember who you used to be Remember it was I who brought you from past to present (not chance, time or evolution) Remembering past victories fuels faith to overcome present troubles (David, Jesus, Joshua, Prodigal son)
