Matthew 18:21-34 Slave owed 10 million dollars to the king Slave was sold into slavery to pay off his debt We inherited debt and acquired debt through sin Time doesn’t remove but increases debt We were sold into paying off our debt – trying to please God with good works Our righteousness not wickedness is filthy rags King gave him compassion - slave asked for patience Prodigal son asked to be a slave but Father made him a son King gave him freedom – slave didn’t ask for it God adopted criminals. God released us from being children of Adam and adopted us King cancelled his debt – slave didn’t ask for it Sin priest committed was forgiven and forgotten Forgive yourself or else you have higher standards than God

Colossians 2:13-14 There is a certificate of debt This certificate was in the way with God Jesus took that certificate out of the way and nailed it to the cross Jesus wiped it out with His own blood
