MELCHIZEDEK
Genesis 14:18-20
Jesus, the Great High Priest
As High Priest He offered Himself as an offering for sin
Like Aaron stood between living and dead and made atonement As High Priest He offers prayers for us day and night (in Garden, on cross, on throne)
Like Samuel who said, I will not sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you Isaiah said “He will make intercession for sinners”. He prayed for Peter, today for you
You aren’t Catholic priest but royal priest (1 Pet.2:5, 6; Rev.1:6, Ex.19:6)
We come before God with blood not with deeds (when I see blood, by blood overcome)
We carry an ark of covenant on our shoulders not burdens of life (no sweat) We wear underwear in God’s presence (private prayer, giving and fasting)
We offer daily prays and praise to God
Jesus, the King of Kings
Everyone did what was right in their eyes when Israel didn’t have a king Once Israel crucified their king, their house was left to them desolate
Jesus is King not president (USA is nation rooted in rebellion to kingdom) King is not voted into power (David, Jesus)
King chooses His citizens (president doesn’t choose us we choose him)
King’s word is a law (Daniel; president is at mercy of majority and senate)
Citizens don’t determine the limit of King’s power (he does whatever he wants)
King owns everything (domain, citizens and etc.)
King is responsible for His citizens (Rome)
Democracy is about people, kingdom is about King King is perfect and good
John the Baptist, Jesus, disciples preached Kingdom; it will be preached at the end
We will reign in life through Jesus (Rom.5:17; Rev.1:6) We ought to rule over cravings, circumstances, feelings, fear, tongue, body (Esau) We ought to rule over sin (Cain) We ought to rule over Satan (Adam; our dominion was restored)
We are experts at controlling others but poor at controlling our life
Jesus, Giver of the Bread of Life
Jesus doesn’t give gums
Gum doesn’t stay sweet Gum doesn’t satisfy World best offer is gum. Gum Generation
Joseph type of Jesus
Joseph “Revealer”, shepherd of flock, truth speaker, loved of father, coat of many colors, hated of brethren cause of future dreams, sent by his father with bread, seeks his brothers, insulted and sold, blood sprinkled the coat, servant, tempted, accused falsely, with butler and baker, desires to be remembered, wonderful counselor, exalted to second hand, gentile bride, giver of bread to all world, reveals to his brethren
Manna type of Jesus Manna was small (humility), round (deity), white (purity), sweet (satisfaction) Manna came like the dew in the morning. Jesus came full of Spirit Manna was mysterious “What is it” “Who is this” Manna was free
Naomi came back for it, prodigal son came back for it, friend requested, man will live by it, multitude ate and were full, and it’s His body
Jesus, Giver of the New Wine
Sipping Saints (25 billion is spent early on alcohol)
Alcohol leads to poverty, strife, sorrow, excess Drunken will not inherit the kingdom
Alcohol is responsible for 55% of deaths on road, cause of heart and liver problem Alcohol is responsible for 47% of work injuries, 49% murders, 52% rapes, 21% suicides, 60% child abuse
Two elements were in involved in communion: wine and bread
New wine for new wineskins
New wineskins is the new heart while new wine is Holy Spirit
Wineskins were made to hold wine, God made new heart to hold His Spirit
Living under influence
Person of influence must be under influence of Spirit Prophets of old and spiritual giants were people under influence
Jesus didn’t allow His disciples to leave until come under influence of God’s Spirit
Live life led by God’s Spirit, not led by your head
