SAUL – THE KING
1 Samuel 9:2
Saul’s Self-Esteem
Who Bible says Saul was and who Saul says he was different (born to fly; image you’re looking is not same as puzzle)
You can’t glorify designer by despising his art work and call that humility
First temptation was to do get it (William looking for painting) (if you only have that you will feel better)
Second temptation was to do to prove it. Jesus didn’t perform for sonship
Proof of my worth is the cross not my actions
Saul is symbolic of Jesus
Sons Seek The Lost
Jesus was the Son of God was sent to seek the lost
Looking for souls is not clergy’s responsibility but sons privilege
Disciples “sons” were looking for donkey for Jesus to ride upon
By not winning a person we are not winning a multitude
Stories: Andrew brought Peter; David Wilkerson brought Nicky Cruz
Desires of the Heart
God answers to his mind – present help in time of need, cast your burden, come with boldness, good Shepherd
Don’t allow things on your mind to cloud things of your heart
What has never been before, in your heart will come to pass
Tommy Barnett – dream to start church in NT, start church in LA; David Cho – largest church in the world
Ps.112:10 the desire of the wicked shall perish; Ps.145:19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him
Prov.10:24 the desire of the righteous will be granted; Prov.13:19 desire accomplished is sweet to the soul
Prov.13:12 desire fulfilled is the tree of life; Matt.15:28 let it be according to your desire
Jn.15:7 ask what you desire that it will be done for you; 1 Cor.14:1 desire spiritual gifts
You will never make your dreams come true but oversleeping
Dreaming is good but when alarm goes off wake up and to go work
The poorest man of all is not man without a cent but a man without a dream
We create our future by what we dream today
Dreams are like starts we may never touch them but they lead us into our destiny
