The Rejection of the Stone Jesus was rejected from being stone to become a chief cornerstone Church was rejected from being like them it made us to become who we are today Brothers of Joseph rejected Joseph and threw him to die but they threw him into his destiny King of Babylon didn’t throw Hebrew boys to their death but their miracle What the enemy meant for evil God will use for God…it was the Lord’s doing and it was marvelous in our eyes…new day

The Nature of the Stone Stone Jacob rested upon. Sin broke the rest. Sabbath shadow of grace. God finished - rested. Jesus finished – rested Stone gave water. First smite stone. Second speak to the stone. Jesus was smitten so that He can be called upon Stone gave victory. Stone of Escape. Saul fled cause David was on the rock Stone offended. Jesus is rock of offense and stone of stumbling. One bitter, and one better. It’s not His fault Stone destroyed kingdoms. Stone as foundation for a house and Church. Jesus is wise man who builds His house on rock. Build yours on it too. Stones were used to kill people (Elijah and John). Jesus came to give His life to people not to destroy them Stones were memorial – Let Jesus remind you of God’s love for you

Capstone – stone that finished the building. Work of creation was finished by Father, work of redemption by Son. Cornerstone – stone that connected two walls. Jesus connected God and man in Himself
