The Temptation of Intimidation
1 Samuel 17:42-43
God is your couch, but the fight is yours
If you run from a fight, you run from victory Victory is not a gift, it only follows a fight Running from a Goliath will not make him disappear Intimidation comes from magnitude of the battle courage comes from the magnitude of the reward
Refuse to fight battles that hold no spoil People are running away from battles with spoil and running into battles with no spoil People close to you will criticize your heart and question your motives?
Intimidation thrives on facts, courage thrives on faith Faith has facts, facts don’t have faith Courage doesn’t come from statute, gift, training, armor but from faith in God. Joshua example Faith rests on what God has done, even if it’s 2 things. Don’t focus what God hasn’t done
The enemy will make you aware of how small you are Don’t look at how big he is? It’s like waves..up and down…don’t look at your emotions When you focus on how small you are, you will defeat you…it’s a form of suicide Moses couldn’t speak, Jeremiah couldn’t speak because of youth, Peter was aware of how big he was Take a good look at yourself? We look unto Jesus who is author and finisher of faith. Our live is hidden in Him Victory comes from not looking at your wound but at Jesus Don’t be aware of how big you are – Nebuchadnezzar
Hit the Goliath in the head…don’t miss his head Don’t fight him with sword or you’ll lose!
