DRIVING INTO A DITCH part II
Confront celebrity syndrome. God’s plan has to make me into a celebrity. No stage no making difference. Disciples wanted to be first and on the top instead of fulfilling what God called them to do Discover your passion. You can’t inject passion, only discover it. Don’t walk barefoot Investigate your dream job. God sent spies twice to promise land. Jesus said count the cost Ministry is a calling not a career. Not family business, insecurity, or control issues Do something you’re good at. God hired talented people
Getting out of the ditch JAMES 5:16 Ditch is deep – sin will go deeper then you wanted to go Ditch is distance – sin creates distance between you and God Call and confess or cover and get caught – Adam’s sin Confess or you’ll get caught – David and Achan Covering is deceiving that you live sinless life - blaming or justifying or lying Getting caught creates worldly repentance Confessing reduces the fine (confess and it will stay confidential, get caught and everyone will know) Confessing heals (you have nothing to cover once you’re healed) Confessing is wanting to be free, once you get caught you work on how to not get caught next time Staying out of the ditch HEBREWS 10:38; 2 COR. Don’t live on extremes. Emotions have extremes. Righteous lives by faith not emotions Emotions can’t run your life, they ought to be enjoyed and controlled Sons of God led by Spirit of God not their emotions Jesus is the Lord not emotions of our life Peter looked to the waves and fell – instead of looking to Jesus Jesus is center not the law. Moses gave law – demands, Jesus gave grace – empowers Jesus is the rock upon which the church and our life is build upon Emotions say bow and worship me, get behind Me Satan, I will worship God only Call to action - what sins I have not confessed but covered? (what’s in the dark grows) - do I worship my emotions?
