Distraction of the Chariot
2 Kings 2:9-12
Discipleship Two teachers in your life, mistakes or mentors. Mistakes are painful and expensive Learning from mistakes is for people who refuse God’s plan of learning from mentors Mentor is not a cheerleader but coach Great things come from God but through people You don’t have to meet your mentors for them to impact your life
Distractions Fullness of his future depended on his focus on that which was the most important Keep the main thing the main thing. Major on majors, minor on minors Chariots are loud but empty Say no to good things so that you can say yes to God things Peter sank because he took his eyes of the main thing but fixed it on a chariot (listen to God or you)
Family – work is a chariot Marriage – kids are chariot, business Health – health of pleasure Money – chariots of sales; body not clothes; Spiritual – heart not actions; relationship not religion; inward not outward Church – people ministered to, not crowds; Jesus could be found in the House
